PS5 Console and Controller

That new PS5 has finally been relieved, below is a picture of the console itself and the new controller. I MIGHT do a full write up at the end of the week.

Add New Faces to Apple Watch

If for some reason you ever needed to create a custom screenshot with an Apple Watch frame, you know it’s not the easiest thing to do on an iPhone or iPad. With the new Watchshot app, not only can you create these screenshots easily, but you can also combine them with a range of Apple Watch models.

There’s nothing complicated about using Watchshot. Once you have installed and opened the app, it asks you to choose an Apple Watch screenshot in your photo library. The best part comes next, when users can choose which Apple Watch frame they want to use with that screenshot.
There are more than 30 options available, including Apple Watch models in aluminum, stainless steel, and ceramic in different colors and bands. You can even find the new 2020 Pride Edition Sport Bands there.
With your custom screenshot ready, Watchshot lets you save it in the Photos app or share it with other apps. This is particularly useful for creating promotional images of an app, illustrating articles, or simply for trying out your favorite watch face with different Apple Watch bands.
The only downside I’ve noticed is that there’s no option to save the screenshots with a transparent background, which makes them unusable in some cases. Even so, the app is still worth a try, due to its ease of use and the options available.
Watchshot is available for free on the App Store and it requires iOS 13.0 or later.

Apple’s iPhone 8 May Have Wireless Charging

Apple looks set to unveil the most radical redesign of its flagship device for the iPhone’s 10th anniversary in 2017. The longstanding rumor that the iPhone 8 will come with a curved OLED display was more or less confirmed.
Now a new report suggests that it will also come with wireless charging. Hon Hai Precision Industry, better known as Foxconn Technology Group, is said to be making wireless charging modules to go with the iPhone 8, according to an industry source familiar with the matter. The source told Nikkei that although Foxconn is definitely working on the technology, “whether the feature can eventually make it into Apple’s updated devices will depend on whether Foxconn can boost the yield rate to a satisfactory level later on.”

Apple New Earpods "Post Refresh"

We’re also told that an entirely new version of Apple’s headphones will be announced tomorrow. Last week, a pair of new Apple earphones leaked onto the web (shown above, gallery/video here) with a unique new design. We’re told that these will be called “Earpods” and will retail for the same price as the current headphones – $29 in the US. The acoustics are obviously improved and they may not fall out of your ears every time you turn your head. We don’t now for sure if these will come standard with all Apple iPhones and iPods but that very well could be the case.

Apples New Connector "Lighting"

According to our sources, Apple’s new, smaller 9-pin dock connector is dubbed “Lightning” internally. As of this evening, we believe that this name will extend to the new connector’s marketing name. The moniker makes sense for two reasons. One: it goes along with the Thunderbolt connector name on the Mac (Thunderbolt and lightning!). Two: perhaps “Lightning” means that the new dock connector will be able to sync via a computer at faster speeds that the current 30-pin connector. With Apple’s new USB3-enabled Macs, we’d hope so anyway. It will sell for around $20 though previous reports indicated $10

One thing to consider: Apple’s Thunderbolt ports have a little lightning bolt on them. How many newbs will mistakenly try to plug their Lightning cables into that port?

Apple Store is DOWN

The Apple Store went down just a few minutes ago ahead of Apple’s announcements at 1PM ET today. We’re obviously expecting to hear all about a new iPhone which will be available On or around September 21st.

New Apple Headset

Vietnamese site Tinhte, which has a solid record of procuring pre-release Apple products, has what they claim to be the headphones that will come with the new iPhone next month.  The current iOS device headphones have remained largely unchanged since the launch of the original iPhone in 2007 and many complain they fit poorly or fall out often (guilty!).  Apple also makes in-ear headphones which many consider over-priced and under performing (also guilty!).

These headphones appear to be a hybrid of the two current versions that Apple offers and it isn’t certain if they will be offered with the product or as a new add-on accessory.

Below are some stills from the site including the comparison to current iPhone headsets and the telltale “Designed in California, Made in Viet Nam” written along the cable:
