New Apple Headset

Vietnamese site Tinhte, which has a solid record of procuring pre-release Apple products, has what they claim to be the headphones that will come with the new iPhone next month.  The current iOS device headphones have remained largely unchanged since the launch of the original iPhone in 2007 and many complain they fit poorly or fall out often (guilty!).  Apple also makes in-ear headphones which many consider over-priced and under performing (also guilty!).

These headphones appear to be a hybrid of the two current versions that Apple offers and it isn’t certain if they will be offered with the product or as a new add-on accessory.

Below are some stills from the site including the comparison to current iPhone headsets and the telltale “Designed in California, Made in Viet Nam” written along the cable:

IPHONE 4 PRICE DROPS TOMORROW

A number of reports are coming in that the iPhone 4 is going to see a price drop at a number of retailers tomorrow.

Phone Arena is reporting that Target will begin selling the iPhone 4 16GB tomorrow for $149.99 and the iPhone 4 32GB for $249.99. However, AT&T's 32GB version wont be cut in price at all. Also, Target will be running a trade-in promotion for 3GS owners giving them $100 off the cost of an iPhone 4 if they trade in their 3GS (which Target will be selling for $19.99). This effectively could cut the cost of a new iPhone 4 to $49.99.

Engadget is separately reporting that Radio Shack, everyones favorite place for hard to find banana wire crimpers, will be slashing the price of iPhone 4's to $169.99 (16GB) and $269.99 (32GB) and the 3GS to $19.99 (8GB).

New iPhones on the way soon anyone?

IPHONE 5 CASES POPPIN UP ALL OVER CHINA

MICGadget reports that the early iPhone 5 cases are "now everywhere" in China. The site has posted another gallery of these case designs, which show a mute switch on the opposite side of the device.

The design is also said to be slightly larger than the existing iPhone 4 and has a slight tapering from top to bottom in thickness. This particular design was originally reported by ThisIsMyNext back in April. At the time, we had expressed doubts about it due to our own tipster about the validity of the design. But now, with the influx of these case designs, we have to reconsider.

IPHONE 5 SHOWS UP IN KOREAN'S PHONE CARRIER SYSTEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apple’s next-generation iPhone is about a month away from reality and carriers around the globe have begun taking steps towards the device’s launch. We heard a few weeks ago that the fifth-generation iPhone has appeared in carrier databases at couple of high-profile European iPhone carriers, and today we are hearing this once again: from Korea. We cannot absolutely confirm that the new device is in the KT (Korea Telecom) system, but it sounds and looks likely. We also heard it from two independent sources.
